Comvita has sponsored TEDxTauranga since its inception in 2013. This independently organised TED event provides a platform for sharing innovative, inspiring and worthwhile ideas in the Bay of Plenty.
Since 2005, and in association with Tauranga City Council, more than 20,000 native plants have been planted in Kopurererua Valley, as part of Birds, Bees, Kids and Trees. The hands-on environmental programme educates young people about the importance of preserving nature for generations to come.
As Paengaroa's largest employer, Comvita has always been a close supporter of the area local school. This has included sponsoring Paengaroa Top School since 2003 and funding a new community garden on school grounds.
Comvita has supported the Otanewainuku Kiwi Trust since its establishment in 2002. Formed by Te Puke Forest and Bird, the trust is focused on growing the brown kiwi population in the Otanewainuku Forest.
Comvita provides Medihoney Antibacterial Wound Gel® to Waipuna Hospice to support their wound care. The hospice, located in Te Puna, provides specialist medical care for patients living with a life-limiting illness and support services for their families.
Comvita’s Kiwi Bee apiary supports Hokianga Health in Northland, a charitable trust providing free healthcare to Hokianga households via 11 clinics from Omapere to Taheke. Our funding is used for capital projects, such as upgrades to clinics and hospitals which focus on ‘hauora’ or holistic wellbeing.
Our sponsorship budget is allocated at the start of each financial year, with the exception of a small fund set aside to support one-off requests, up to the value of $1,000. Requests for this sponsorship should be made at least six weeks prior to the date required.

Comvita has been a fabulous supporter of Paengaroa School and surrounding community clubs as far back as I can remember. Since 2003, Comvita has remained the main naming right sponsor for Comvita Top School and they recently funded our Paengaroa Community Garden on school grounds. This is a fantastic asset. Thanks Comvita, we really appreciate your community minded approach."
Bruce Lendrum, Principal, Paengaroa School
