    • Neil John Craig

      B.AG COM (ECONOMICS) | NON-EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN | TAURANGA

      Neil has been Chairman of Comvita since September 2005. He is Executive Chairman of Craigs Investment Partners, a New Zealand Exchange Participant Firm and New Zealand's largest retail broking firm. Craigs Investment Partners has approximately 310 staff across 17 branches throughout New Zealand.

      Sarah Ottrey

      BCOM (MARKETING) | Independent Director | Queenstown

      Sarah joined the Comvita board in November 2012. She has a background in senior marketing roles in New Zealand and Asia for international companies Unilever and DB Breweries. In 1994, as Marketing Manager for Tui, Sarah generated the iconic, Tui, Yeah Right Campaign, which has run for an unprecedented 18 years and is still going strong. In addition to being a professional Director, Sarah has her own Marketing Advisory company which focuses on consumer advocacy, brand building and governance work. Clients include and have included Beef + Lamb NZ, DB Breweries, SPARC and the BNZ. Sarah's current directorships are with NZX-listed, EBOS Group Ltd, Smiths City Group Ltd, the NZX-unlisted Blue Sky Meats Ltd and other private companies.

      Luke Bunt

      CA, CMInstD | Independent Director | Auckland

      A professional director and consultant, Luke has over 30 years experience in manufacturing, wholesaling and retailing in both durable goods and FMCG and has considerable experience in financial services and property. He has held senior executive positions in a number of well-known New Zealand corporates, both public and private. This includes ten years with The Warehouse Group where he was Chief Financial Officer and Head of Property, and 10 years with the DB Group where he was Group General Manager Finance and Planning. Luke is a member of the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Institute of Directors in NZ. He joined the Comvita board in July 2014.

      Sarah Kennedy

      Independent Director, Auckland

      Sarah is the CEO of Lifestream International, a 100% New Zealand owned company specialising in bioavailable, ethical, plant-based health foods. Prior to this she was the CEO of Designer Textiles International. From 2011 to 2014, Sarah was with Fonterra and held roles as Vice President International Farming based in China, Managing Director of Dairy Nutrition and Managing Director of RD1 - Fonterra's chain of rural retail stores. Prior to that, Sarah had 10 years as Managing Director of Healtheries/Vitaco NZ Limited and during this time she handled the sales and distribution role for Comvita in NZ. During her time at Healtheries, she oversaw the merger of Healtheries with Nutralife, doubling the size of the organisation and increasing market share significantly in both NZ and Australia, along with taking the business into international markets. Sarah is originally a veterinarian by training and has held a number of other senior executive positions in agribusiness and food industries. Sarah joined Comvita as a newly appointed Director in July 2015.

      Murray Denyer

      LLB, BCom. | Independent Director | Mt Maunganui

      Murray is an experienced commercial lawyer, having advised and worked with both large and medium sized New Zealand companies, State Owned Enterprises and government departments. As a former New Zealand diplomat and government international trade lawyer, he also has specialist expertise in international trade law and policy. Murray was General Counsel and Board Secretary with Zespri International Limited and is now a Partner at law firm, Cooney Lees Morgan in Tauranga, which he joined in 2009. His legal practice spans company and commercial law, mergers and acquisitions, agribusiness and international trade law and policy. Murray also has extensive experience in human resources and remuneration matters. He is a Director of Enterprise Angels, the local Bay of Plenty/Waikato angel investment group. Murray joined the Board in April 2016.

      Brett Hewlett

      B.Food.Tech, MBA, MInstD | Independent Director | Mt Maunganui

      Brett is a professional director and consultant. He is an Independent Director and Chairman of private company BlueLab Corporation Ltd, Director of SeaDragon Ltd (NZX:SEA), Chairman of Priority One, Tauranga and Western BOP's economic development agency, a Board member of Enterprise Angels as well as a Member of the Callaghan Innovation Stakeholder Advisory Group. Brett is a former member of the New Zealand Trade and Enterprise's Better by Design Advisory Board and former Chief Executive Officer of Comvita. Prior to Comvita, he held a number of senior roles with global packaging firm Tetra Pak. Brett has a Bachelor of Food Technology from Massey University, and a Masters of Business Administration from the International Institute for Management Development, Switzerland. He has also completed advanced management programmes at Stanford University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Management. Brett is a Member of the Institute of Directors, he joined the Board in May 2017.

      Paul Reid

      Independent Director | Wellington

      Paul is an innovative thinker who understands digital trends and application in the commercial area. Currently Paul is Chair of Figured (an accounting platform for farming businesses) and Pukeko Pictures GP (Global Entertainment Company), Director of Software Education and an advisory board member to several technology businesses. He has held a number of key executive roles in the transformation of businesses including NZ Post Group, Air New Zealand, MetService and Carter Holt Harvey. Paul holds honours degrees in Mathematics and Operations Research. In May 2017, Paul joined the Board.

    • Scott Coulter

      B. Tech (Biotech), BBS (Accounting) | Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

      Scott was appointed CEO of Comvita Limited in October 2015. He joined Comvita as Sales and Marketing Manager in 2003, following senior management roles in sales and marketing at Dominion Salt and Tetra Pak. In 2007, he took on additional managerial and operating responsibilities and became Comvita's Chief Marketing Officer. Scott was appointed Chief Operating officer and Deputy CEO in 2012. Over his 13 year tenure, Scott has had extensive experience in implementing Comvita's global strategy for operations, sales and marketing. He was personally named as winner of the Export NZ Bay of Plenty Achiever award in 2010 and was awarded the 2013 NZ Prime Minister's Business Scholarship, completing the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School in 2014. Scott has a Bachelor of Technology (Biotech) and a Bachelor of Business Studies (Accounting).

      Mark Sadd

      BBS, GradDipFin | Chief Commercial Officer (CCO)

      Mark joined Comvita in December 2013 and is tasked with optimising costs and profits, reviewing business development opportunities, acquisitions, major supply contracts and commercial agreements. Leading a team with complex budgeting and reporting requirements, his focus is on providing solid forecasting, accurate measurements of results and delivering enhanced value for investors. Mark also acts as Deputy CEO.

      Mark comes from a strong management accounting and entrepreneurial background in agribusiness, banking and recently as CFO of Dominion Salt. Over the past few years he has successfully run his own business interests and prior to his appointment, assisted Comvita with a number of cost review initiatives. He has also worked in various advisory roles with a number of local companies.

      Colin Baskin

      DipT, MBA (Distinction) |Chief Supply Chain Officer (CSCO)

      Chief Supply Chain Officer, Colin Baskin, has an international career in Supply Chain within the Primary Sector and joined Comvita in 2007 from ZESPRI International Ltd., where he was Global Supply Manager. In 2014, as General Manager Supply Chain, Colin personally received the Bay of Plenty Tertiary Partnership Export Achievement Award and in May 2015 the Comvita Supply Chain was awarded the NZ China Trade Association (NZCTA) award for Supply Chain Innovation.

      As CSCO, Colin has responsibility for Comvita's global supply network including, Olive Products Australia, Kiwi Extracts Ltd, NZ Honey and the Kiwi Bee Apiaries operations. Leading a large team, Colin's focus is on delivering supply efficiencies and enhancing our Supply Partnership.

      Sharon Hollenstein

      B.Sc, (1st Class Hons, Chem); PhD, Bio-Organic Chem. | Chief Innovation Officer (CINO)

      Sharon Hollenstein joined Comvita in April 2016, in the newly created role of Chief Innovation Officer, from Fonterra where she spent over 10 years in a number of high level innovation and new product development roles; most recently in the position of Global Manager Innovation Anlene. In this role, Sharon was responsible for delivering innovation initiatives that would deliver significant value growth.

      Sharon also comes to us with relevant global market experience having been based in Malaysia for two and a half years, and also holding key positions within Fonterra that focused on the China, Asia, Europe and North American markets. Sharon is responsible for leveraging our brand into new product formats and ingredient platforms.

      Simon Pothecary

      BA, DipM, DipF | Chief Sales Officer (CSO)

      Simon Pothecary joined Comvita in 2006 as General Manager UK, Europe and the Middle East before becoming the General Manager of Australia in 2014

      His responsibilities have recently been expanded to include domestic NZ, UK and the USA. Prior to Comvita, Simon was a Marketing Director for Consumer Healthcare at GlaxoSmithKline and prior to that, held global and local marketing roles at Pfizer Consumer Healthcare

      Ben Shaw

      BA, PGDipCom (Marketing) | Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)

      Ben Shaw joined Comvita in September 2015 as General Manager Category. He was previously Senior Category Manager at Asahi Premium Beverages where he oversaw the Beer and Cider portfolios.

      During this period he launched a number of new brands including the Boundary Road Brewery craft beer range and worked with multiple international brand owners. Prior to this he was Marketing Manager at Les Mills International and held numerous marketing roles at DB Breweries.

      Julianne Keast

      CA, BMS (1st Class Hons, Accounting) | Chief Financial Officer Acting (CFO)

      Julianne joined Comvita in 2010 as Financial Accounting Manager, tasked with responsibility for external audit, tax and financial compliance.

      For the past two years she has been General Manager Finance focusing on both financial and management accounting. She comes from a strong financial accounting background, previously working at KPMG Wellington and Tauranga offices for 9 years as Audit Manager, working across a range of industries. As CFO Acting, Julianne's focus is on empowering the business to make sound financial decisions and supporting the finance team to provide both internal and external financial information, that assists in timely decision making with a forward-looking focus.

      Kate Selway

      BA (Business Psychology) | Chief People& Culture Officer - Acting (CPCO)

      In September 2010, Kate joined Comvita as HR Coordinator and over the last seven years has developed through the function, with her most recent role as GM People & Culture.

      Her focus in the acting CPCO role will be driving a high performing values-based culture, leading and implementing Comvita's People Strategy and developing the overall, global employee experience. Kate has a background in Human Resources and Health & Safety, with previous roles at Placemakers.
