Medihoney™ Wound Gel is made of 80% medical grade Mānuka Honey combined with natural wax and oils to provide a high viscosity gel that is easy to apply and easy to wash off when dressings are changed. Medihoney wound gel can be used throughout the healing process.
Comvita Medihoney™ contains medical grade manuka honey, which is a standardised grade of antibacterial Leptospermum sp. (Mānuka) honey as specified by scientific research.
The earliest record of therapeutic honey use dates as far back as 2000 B.C. Honey has been used as a healing substance throughout history by the ancient Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Hindu and Chinese cultures.
Prepare the affected area by cleaning the wound and thoroughly drying the surrounding skin. Apply a generous quantity of Wound Gel directly onto the wound or an appropriate dressing. Secure the dressing to the area and regularly monitor the wound. Always read the label. Use only as directed.

I use this on any broken skin and when my husband gets infected pores on his back. I apply it to clean skin with a plaster and leave for 24 hrs. It usually draws all the pus out and leaves a nice clean wound which I dress with more honey on a plaster. BUT I used to be able to but comvita plasters impregnated with the wound gel. They were wonderful. Are they still available? Regardless, I love the product and consider it an essential first aid item. I wish it had been available when my four children were little. Hub
This is a permanent fixture in our medicine box. We use it for all sorts of scrapes and just put the gel onto the pad of a plaster. The scrapes and minor wounds kids come home with seem to heal very quickly when we use this.

This is an amazing product! I tested it on some scratches against a regular wound cream and the honey cleared up the wound in 2-3 days (took 5-6 days for the regular cream). I'm a big fan.
