Serves: 4 individual, or on a platter to share

Ingredients

  • 4 firm but ripe Pears – cut in half lengthwise and cored 1/3 cup
  • MĀNUKA HONEY
  • 50 gms butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon mixed spice
  • Fresh chopped rosemary
  • Blue cheese, soft creamy brie and prosciutto to serve / crackers

Method

1. Pre- heat oven to 175° C and line an oven tray with baking paper.

2. Arrange the pears cut side up on the tray.

3. Combine the Mānuka honey, butter and spice and rosemary then mix well

4. Pour the glaze all over the pears

5. Bake for 20-30 minutes until the pears are tender and caramelised.

6. Serve pears with blue cheese, soft creamy brie and prosciutto ham and crackers 

Tips: These delicious caramelised pears can also be served as a dessert with custard or ice cream, or can be chopped up and served in a warm salad with rocket leaves, goats’ cheese and crispy bacon shards.
