1. Information on how to participate in the Promotion and redeem the Comvita ‘A Kiwi Connection’ Promotion Prize form part of these conditions. Participation in the Promotion is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.

2. The Promotion is open to New Zealand residents. Employees of the Promoter and any agency involved with this Promotion, and the immediate families of such employees, are not eligible to enter.

The Promotion commences on Wednesday 1st March 2023 at 3pm and finishes on Wednesday 22nd March 2023 at 5pm (‘Promotion Period’). Any attempts to redeem the Promotion elements outside of the Promotional period will not be eligible.

4. This Promotion is in no way affiliated, sponsored, or endorsed by Facebook and/or Instagram.

How to Enter the Comvita ‘A Kiwi Connection’ Promotion:

5. Fill out the online competition entry form found on Comvita’s website - here , including all required elements. By completing the entry form, the participant acknowledges they accept these terms and conditions.

Special Entry Conditions

6. A valid email address is required to enter the competition, and only one entry per valid email address will be accepted.

All details on the form must be filled out accurately, including your valid email address, and by entering the competition you are consenting to receive email communication about the Promotion, Save The Kiwi, and other Comvita Promotions, from Comvita New Zealand Ltd.

8. The Promoter is not liable for any failure (for whatever reason) to record an entry into the Promotion.

9. All details of the entrants will be used for the purpose of the Promotion and for future promotion and marketing purposes in accordance with Comvita’s Privacy Policy (see www.comvita.co.nz/privacy-policy) unless otherwise directed by participants at the time of entry.

10. By completing the form, the participant consents to:

• The use of their name, suggested kiwi name, and reasoning to be used for the promotional purposes (including social media marketing, press releases and other media promotions) of Comvita and Save The Kiwi.
• For photos and videos of the Winner to be used publicly for the promotional purposes of Comvita and Save The Kiwi.
• Sharing of information provided in the form with Save the Kiwi who Comvita works with for this promotion.

11. If the Winner of the Prize is under the age of 18, by entering and accepting the terms and conditions of this Promotion, they have done so with the consent of a legal guardian, who in doing so, also accepts these terms and conditions.

Prize Details and Claiming the Prize

12. The winning entry will be selected by a selection panel made up of members from Comvita and Save The Kiwi. In the case of more than one entry with a similar name, it is at the discretion of the selection panel as to who the winner is.

13. The decision made by the selection panel is final and no further correspondence will be entered into.

14. The Winner will be contacted by Tuesday 21st March 2023 by the phone number and email address provided. The facilitator will leave a message if the Winner does not answer, the Winner will have 72 hours to claim their Prize by making contact with the facilitator. If contact has not been made following 72 hours after first contact, the Winner forfeits the Prize and a new Winner will take their place. Comvita would never request your bank account, credit card or any other financial details to enter a competition. If these are requested it is likely to be a scam, please delete the request and report to the service provider that the request came through. Comvita will only contact you via the email or phone number provided on the official entry form.

15. There is one Prize to be won. The Prize is not transferable for cash or any other benefit.

16. The Prize is valued at $5,000NZD and includes:

• Return flexitime flights for two from nearest airport to the Winner’s place of residence, at the discretion of the Promoter.
• Accommodation for two in Auckland for one night.
• One $500 Prezzy Card to spend on petrol and food during the weekend. Chaperoned travel to Rotoroa Island for the release of the kiwi.
• Release location will be Rotoroa Island.
• The release of a kiwi into the wild as facilitated by Save the Kiwi.

17. The kiwi will be released between the 13th - 22nd April. Winners must be available for travel for the duration of two days within this period. No compensation will be payable if the Winner is unable to use the Prize on the designated Prize weekend dates. In the case of government restrictions preventing Prize fulfilment on the designated dates, the kiwi will be released without the presence of the Winner, and no further correspondence will be entered into.

18. The kiwi release is subject to weather conditions, and health conditions of the kiwi. If for whatever reason the release of this kiwi cannot go ahead, Save the Kiwi agrees to provide the winner with another kiwi experience within 12 months.

19. The Winner is allowed to nominate other family members, friends, associates or any other person who will be able to participate on the Winner’s behalf within the 72 hour window of first contact between the facilitator and the Winner. The nominated person then becomes ‘the Winner’ and is subject to the conditions set out in this document for ‘the Winner’.

20. If the Winner is unable to nominate another person within the 72-hour window the Winner forfeits the Prize and a new Winner will be chosen by the selection panel to take their place.

21. If the Winner is under the age of 18, the travelling companion must be a legal guardian of the Winner.

22. Once the Winner and their travelling companion are confirmed and ticketed, the Winner will not be able to make changes to the booking. If the Winner and/or their travel companion are unable to travel on the designated dates, after the travel is ticketed, the Winner will forfeit the Prize, and no other negotiations will be entered into.

Winning the Prize

23. The Winner takes the Prize entirely at their own risk and indemnifies the Promoter in respect of any claim for any accident, injury, property damage or loss of life that may occur in connection with the Prize. Neither the Promoter nor any other person or party associated with this Promotion shall be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with either participation in this Promotion or with any Prize offered. The Winner is responsible for all insurance, tax or other costs that may be associated with the Prize.

• Where the Prize includes air travel and/or accommodation, the Winner MUST have valid documentation.
• The Winner and their travelling companion (if applicable) must travel together at all times. The Winner is responsible for transport from their residence to their nearest airport for flight departure and from their nearest airport to their residence upon returning.
• Flight tickets are available on the regular scheduled services of each airline and are subject to seasonal embargos. The flight itinerary may have to be adjusted depending on the airline's departure city and their current flight schedule. Unless otherwise specified, the air travel is economy class.
• Any changes to travel dates or additional accommodation outside the travel period specified in the Prize details, made by the Winner, which incur additional costs, are to be paid by the Winner.

24. The Winner will be responsible for expenses including, but not limited to, and all other ancillary costs associated with redeeming the Prize. The Winner should consider obtaining travel insurance to protect themselves against additional costs incurred in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

25. The Prize must be taken as stated in these conditions and no compensation will be payable if the Winner is unable to use the Prize as stated. For the avoidance of doubt, if the Winner is, for whatever reason, unable to travel on a nominated date during this period, after the travel is ticketed, whether the failure was due to reasons beyond the Winner's control or otherwise, then the Winner will forfeit the Prize.

26. All travel is subject to the terms, conditions and restrictions of the Prize service providers. Any travelling companion included in the Prize (if applicable) accepts the Prize subject to these terms, conditions and restrictions as if references to the Winner in the relevant clauses were to the travelling companion.

27. The Prize will not be transferred to another date in the case of a force majeure event. The release of the kiwi will not happen in the presence of the Winner, and instead will be released by staff from Save The Kiwi.

28. Once the Winner and their travelling companion are confirmed and ticketed, the Winner will not be able to make changes to the booking.

Eligibility

29. The Promotion is open to all New Zealand residents and complies with the ‘Entry Conditions’, set out in these conditions.

30. ‘Disqualified Participants’ are:

• All Comvita & Save The Kiwi employees and their Immediate Families (Immediate Families’ include spouses, grandparents, parents, children, and grandchildren, whether by marriage, past marriages, remarriage, adoption, co-habitation or other family extension).
• Employees of any agency involved with this Promotion, and the immediate families of such employees.

Acceptance of Terms and Conditions

31. As entry into the Prize draw is automatic, acceptance of the Prize is deemed to be acceptance of these terms and conditions.

32. The Promoter reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time without notice.

Roles

33. Comvita New Zealand Limited at 23 Wilson Road South, Paengaroa, 3189, is the Promoter.

34. One Plus One Communications at 130 St Georges Bay Road, Parnell, 1052, is the Facilitator.

35. Save the Kiwi, at 72 Taharoto Road, Takapuna, Auckland 9622, is the Charitable Trust.
