Research by scientists at the Cardiff Metropolitan University shows that Manuka honey can be extremely effective against a particular type of superbug, Streptococcus pyogenes. If not caught early enough for example, this bacteria has potential to develop into the flesh-eating disease, necrotizing fasciitis.
The Welsh study used medical-grade Manuka honey provided by global natural health and beauty products company, Comvita.
